Presentation of GERLI

The Groupe d'Etude et de Recherche en Lipidomique (GERLI) is a learned society with a board and a scientific council.

Founded in 1978, GERLI is one of the thematic groups of the Société Française de Biochimie et Biologie Moléculaire (SFBBM). At European level, GERLI is associated with EURO FED LIPID, the European federation for lipid science and technology.

For the past 40 years, GERLI has been a driving force in the scientific community, organizing an international congress every year, and stimulating the interest of young scientists by awarding Thesis Prizes. The Lipidomics congresses, with cross-disciplinary themes ranging from the very fundamental aspects of lipid biology, studied at various scales in terms of structure, organization and biological functions, to the pathophysiological implications of these molecules, have brought together over 2,000 people since 2003. This has helped build a network of scientists in the field.
